Washington Dance Studio - Inspiring the Art of Dance

Testimonials

“Our family's eleven years of dancing with WDS has been exceptional! Through dance, our daughters have learned to be poised, balanced, graceful and gracious young ladies. The spirit of Washington Dance Studio is what truly makes it so unique. The instructors have an energy for dance and for life and that energy is reflected in their dancers. As our daughter walked away from the annual dance recital this spring she exclaimed, 'This was the best night of my life!' What better endorsement could there be? I highly recommend WDS."

“As a former student, and now a parent of a student at Washington Dance Studio, I have found the experience of dance instruction to very beneficial as a way to develop grace and an appreciation of dance. More importantly, I also feel the teachers at the studio help the students to develop self-confidence, discipline, and a good sense of body image through an emphasis on technique and form that cultivates the true talents of their dancers.”

“My daughter has been taking dance classes with Washington Dance Studio every year since she was in kindergarten. Seeing her leave each lesson with a big smile and an extra bounce in her step lets me know how much she enjoys attending Washington Dance Studio - so much so that we are now up to three classes a term as well as private lessons! The instructors take the time to get to know each student and provide an enormous amount of positive reinforcement while still helping them improve their form and technique. I have seen this reinforcement and loving attitude help students gain more confidence, overcome body-image perceptions and develop discipline. Holiday workshops throughout the year provide additional opportunities for "fun" learning. While the Performance Company attends competitions, the learning atmosphere is anything but competitive. Each student is encouraged to learn at their own pace and will only be moved to the next level (such as pointe) when their bodies are strong enough, so as not to do any permanent physical damage to the student. It is this constant concern for my daughter's well being, and the focus on learning while still having fun and allowing young girls to remain age appropriate, that I highly recommend Washington Dance Studio to all parents!”
